A testimonial from dentist Ulrike M. Steinmetz from Kürnach near Würzburg.
I have been running my dental practice in Kürnach near Würzburg for 24 years now. I have known and used FOKALDRY from lege artis Pharma for about five years.
An important part of my treatment spectrum: FOKALDRY
FOKALDRY is a solution mixture of acetone, isopropyl alcohol, petroleum ether and diisopropyl ether. It is used for conservative and prosthetic treatments.
In the conservative area, I use FOKALDRY to clean and disinfect the cavity and the contaminated dentinal tubules after the caries has been completely removed. The cavity is wiped out with a foam pellet moistened with FOKALDRY and then additionally blown out with air. A rubber dam should be placed to protect the mucosa from contact and the patient from inhalation.
FOKALDRY cleans, degreases and disinfects the cavity in a single step and dries within seconds due to the volatility of the substance. However, it is important to ensure that the solution mixture is not used for very deep cavities, as a pulp-damaging effect cannot be ruled out (IZA recommendations of the BZÄK). I also clean and degrease prepared tooth stumps with FOKALDRY before inserting prosthetic restorations. The medical device is equally indicated and easy to use for crowns, partial crowns, bridges and telescopic crowns.
Through regular use on a large number of fillings, crowns and bridges, I was able to determine during the observation period that the hold of the fillings and restorations has improved significantly due to the thorough degreasing. The number of complaints after treatment has also been significantly reduced due to the disinfecting effect of FOKALDRY.
In the endodontic field, I use FOKALDRY for preparatory disinfection and degreasing alternating with CHX 2% rinsing on teeth that have already been filled and prepared to receive a root post. This improves the adaptation of the inserted post cementation material and thus contributes to improving the retention of the restoration. The use of the rubber dam is also indicated in this case to protect the surrounding tissue from contact and to prevent the patient from swallowing or inhaling the material.
FOKALDRY has become an important part of my treatment spectrum and can be recommended if the safety instructions are observed.
